Work Package 4

The Science-Policy-Society Interface (SPSI)

WP4 deals with the work of the SPSI in the LL and draws on the cooperation between academia, policy, and society for participatory evidence-informed decision-making. It combines the research results gathered on a district level with national politics, strategies, and programs in Food Security and Nutrition and rural livelihoods resilience to extreme weather events.

On the one hand, it will analyze how far national policy approaches do justice to the local characteristics, specifics, and needs if they are sufficiently operationalized and interlock coherently for the production of local impacts.

On the other hand, the dissemination of research results and recommendations designed on the local level via national forums, platforms, and political actors will serve as a strategy to promote context-specific interventions for food security and disaster risk reduction.
